Dunbar is well served by train and bus services, and with a wide range of accommodation options it’s easy to make the Festival weekend an excuse for a longer break in our beautiful harbour town.

In the town itself you can choose between hotel, bed & breakfast and hostel accommodation, while slightly further out are several camping and caravan sites.

Travel

The Railway Station and High Street bus stops are a short walk from the Festival venues.

Bus

To and from Edinburgh in about 75 minutes
The X7 service regularly runs between Edinburgh and Dunbar High Street.

To and from Berwick-on-Tweed in about 80 minutes
The 253 service runs Friday and Saturday only between Berwick Railway Station and Dunbar High Street.

Driving and parking

Dunbar is located on the A1, approximately 30 miles south of Edinburgh and 30 miles north of the English border at Berwick-on-Tweed.

Dunbar has several free car parks dotted around the town, all within a short walk of Festival venues. 

We recommend the use of public transport wherever possible.
